For one, there's the fact that you can actually sleep like a normal person. That cuts out quite a number of late night posts.
Secondly, there's the fact that the first few days home are always spent chattering with family and getting the warm&fuzzies from just being home and around people who love you almost unconditionally. That takes away quite a number of hours since you're doing other things with the parentals.
Third, every time you do turn on your computer, something or someone is always there to interrupt your train of thought or distract you from sitting down and concentrating on typing out what's on your mind. Especially if you're sitting downstairs. Cause then there's a dog who uses puppy-eyes on you to get you to pet her.
Case in point? Five days, six drafts, nothing posted.
