All weekend, there was a giant fan blowing noisily in our hallway.
Apparently, one of the apartments nearby had a pipe burst or some other event where water went everywhere, so our building's solution is to evaporate it all by blowing air over/on it until it dries out.
Hence, this morning, as I opened my apartment door to walk to class, our hallway smelled faintly like dead goldfish.
Nice.
